The cool lines, colors, and patterns in this wood happen because of different fungi breaking down the wood as it decays in nature, a thing called spalting. Once it's dry, this natural process stops, leaving behind some really unique and sought-after wood. Enjoy the cool craftsmanship and natural beauty of spalted maple with this awesome handcrafted bowl. This bowl is finished with 6 coats of polyurethane, Measures approx. 5 3/4 inches wide x 2 3/4 inches tall. All my pieces are hand crafted so no two are alike.
